The beginning of 2021 saw Malaysia recording the highest COVID new daily cases (3,337 fresh cases) and our country declaring nationwide emergency which consequently contributed to the enforcement of Movement Control Order (MCO) throughout the country.

But in the case of the children under National Cancer Society Malaysia’s care, quarantine is the norm that they have learned to accept and live by, at least for a period of their lives.

NCSM is the first not-for-profit cancer organisation in Malaysia that provides education, care and support services for people affected by cancer and the general public.

Championing cancer in the midst of the pandemic must have not been a walk in the park for these kids and their parents. Hence, in the spirit of Christmas this year, ProQualea team wanted to give a little joy to the little warriors at Children’s Home of Hope through the initiative by WeWork Malaysia.

Many Malaysian families go through hardship when cancer hits. Due to a lack of treatment centres around Malaysia, families are forced to travel far and spend from days to months to get treatment for their children. Even then, hospital wards are often full, causing accommodation problems and further financial stress for the family.

Children’s Home of Hope provide FREE accommodation for child cancer patients and their caregivers from outside of Kuala Lumpur while they undergo treatment at the hospital.

From formulas, food, toys, learning materials to art supplies or a heartfelt donation, many can be contributed to help ease the burden of centres such as this to care for their occupants.
